BHOPAL  : The students from underprivileged section of the society will get admission in private school through online process from the current academic session. Most of the private schools have not uploaded the information regarding seats reserved for poor students on www.educationportal.mp.gov.in/RtePortal under the Right to Education (RTE) Act and have been instructed to upload it till Monday failing which they would have to face action from the government.

Additional chief secretary (ACS) SR Mohanti has issued the letter to all the collectors, along with the district education officers (DEO) and project coordinators, that under the RTE Act the admissions will be decided by the government.

Earlier the admissions depended upon the management of the schools in which the parents faced various problems.

Now the government has planned that the schools will upload information about their vacant 25 percent seats under the RTE Act. The schools have been instructed to upload the details on the education portal, till 20th of June. If any school ignores the instruction, it would be penalised under the RTE Act provisions.

The admissions are given to scheduled caste, schedule tribe, forest villages, nomads, specially challenged and below poverty line children, under the Act.

The applicants have to file online application and have to make a choice of school on priority basis. The applicants have 10 options to fill in the application form. No fees will be charged for filling the applications.

The applicants can file the application from June 23 till last date June 30. Till applicant can see the application July 4 and make the changes.

The NIC has prepared the system for the allocations and the seat allotment through lottery system, which will be done on July 7. The admission process will be completed between of July 8 and16.

The DEOs have been instructed to launch the awareness campaign in the area so that the parents can contact them. A cell will be established from block level to state level to help the parents to know the process.
