Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), show its might on certain seats in the state, are contesting on more than two dozen seats this time. With the rebel leaders of BJP and Congress joining these two parties and jumping into election arena, the impact of SP and BSP on elections could be easily seen.  BSP managed to get five seats in 2013 polls, whereas SP could not open its account. It is considered that this time both parties would grab more seats than before.

The importance of how these two parties will fare has risen, given the tough contest between BJP and Congress in assembly polls.  The contest has become triangular with SP and BSP in the fray and it has made any predication even more difficult. The influence of BSP in Vindhya and Chambal and SP in Bundelkhand could be easily seen.

According to the political experts BJP MLA Bharat Singh Kushwaha is having direct fight with BSP candidate Sahab Singh Gurjar in Gwalior rural seat. Congress seemed to be going to be at third place here.  The candidates of BJP and Congress have tough contest with Kailash of BSP on Pohri seat in Shivpuri district. Babulal Mewra, who turned rebel from BJP in Sheopur, is contesting from BSP and his impact could be easily seen as he may dent the vote bank of BJP.

Similarly, other BSP candidates namely Maniram Dhakar of BSP from Jora seat in Morena district, Manavendra Sikarwar of Sumawali, Balvir Dandotia from Morena, Chatarsingh Tomar from Dimni and Satyaprakash Jatav from Ambaha are having close contest with the candidates of Congress and BJP.

BSP candidate from Bhind seat in Bhind district, Sanjiv Kushwaha and Narendra Kushwaha of SP, are challenging BJP candidate Rakesh Singh. BSP candidate Jagdish Sagar is also giving a tough fight to BJP candidate Lal Singh Arya in Gohad.
Ajay Yadav of BSP from Khargapur in Teekamgarh district and Mira Yadav of SP from Nivari seat are having tough fight with BJP and Congress candidates.

Ananya Singh of SP from Chandla seat in Chatarpur district, Nitin Chaturvedi from Rajnagar, Rajesh Shukla from Bijawar seat have made things complicated for the candidates of BJP and Congress.  BSP candidate MLA Usha Chaudhary on Raigaon seat of Satna, Ramlakhan Singh from Rampur Baghelan and Pushkar Singh in Satna are in direct fight with the BJP. Pankaj Patel of BSP from Semaria in Rewa, Seemadevi Singh in Devtalab, Sheela Tyagi in Mangavan, Pradeep Singh Patna from SP on Sirmaur seat and Kapildhwaj Singh from Gud have made the contest interesting.
