BHOPAL : The railway administration has launched a facility of automatic ticket vending machine (ATVM) for providing tickets in least possible time to passengers traveling without reservation. Under this facility 35 ATVM have been installed at 14 railway stations of Bhopal railway division to provide unreserved tickets through smart card. The passengers availing the facility could get tickets by getting smart card issued for Rs 50 from booking office. After getting the smart card once it could be recharged in multiples of Rs 50 up to Rs 10,000. It would not only save the time but also rid of waiting in long queues at booking counters. The facility would be available throughout 24 hours.
The 14 railway stations of Bhopal railway division where 35 vending machines have been installed include Bhopal and Habibganj where 6 ATVMs each have been installed, 4 ATVMs each at Itarsi and Bina, 3 ATVMs at Hoshangabad, and 2 ATVMs each at Vidisha, Ganjbasoda and Guna. one ATVM each at Mandibamora, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Banapura, Harda and Khirkia railway stations. Facilitators have been made available at Bhopal, Habibganj, Itarsi, Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Mandibamora, Bina, Guna and Shivpuri to help people in getting tickets. The passengers would get a discount of 5 per cent on purchasing tickets through smart card for a distance up to 150km.
