BHOPAL : In a report submitted to National Green Tribunal (NGT), Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) has given details of 27 colonies/projects/institutions, out of which only 5 were found “no discharge” category into river Kaliasote. Petitioner Dr Subhash Pandey has claimed that so many nullahs are also discharging untreated sewage and effluents into Kaliasote but PCB has not covered it all, and thus the reports submitted by PCB is incomplete. On the counter of Dr. Pandey on the PCB report, NGT has directed the petitioner to submit a fresh application on the matter.
T&CP asked to file report in 3 days
NGT has instructed Town and country planning (T&CP) to submit an affidavit that no construction is being carried on at the river bed and 33meter green belt to both sides of river Kaliasote within 3 days. Next hearing will be on November 27. T&CP has also submitted a miscellaneous application seeking 3 months time to submit the compliance report NGT had sought on August 20. T&CP has submitted this prayer on account of heavy rains, election duties and absence of permanent revenue features on site and as the river was not included in Bandobast on the East side of Kaliasote.
