Hoshangabad : The traditional Pachmadhi Utsav will be held at state’s alone hill station at Pachmadhi during the last week of December. A detail discussion regarding the preparations for the festival was held during the meeting at secretariat.
Chief secretary Antony Disa directed during the meeting that the cultural programme in the festival should be based on regional culture. Chief secretary said that all the programmes and places of the festival should be according to the natural beauty of Pachmadhi. It was informed in the meeting that the festival will begin with Rangoli competition, Marathon race and folk arts, while the festival’s conclusion ceremony will be held with the enthralling presentation of Army band.
During the festival various adventurous sports like Parasailing, bike riding, rock climbing, valley crossing, sky watching and howler-craft will also be held. The kite-flying, food fair and regional fold dances will also be the part of the festival. Hoshangabad district administration, tourist promotion council, tourist department and cultural department will give their support for the successful organisation of the festival.
Chief secretary Disa said that the special golf ground with 18 wholes will be centre of attraction for the tourists and golf lovers. It is to be noted that Pachmadhi’s gold ground is situated on the highest peak of Central India. Billiard sports facility is also available at the Raj Bhawan of Pachmadhi. Pachmadhi’s government silk centre is also a centre of attraction of the tourists. During the meeting, principal secretary cultural department Manoj Shrivastav, Chief Minister’s secretary Hariranjan Rao, managing director of tourist corporation Raghvendra Singh, Divisional commissioner of Narmdapuram division VK Batham, Hoshangabad district collector Sanket Bhondwe and other officials were also present during the meeting.
Hoshangabad district collector Sanket Bhondwe also held a review meeting regarding the preparations of the festival at Hotel Highland, Pachmadhi. During the meeting, collector Bhondwe informed that the Pachmadhi festival will be held from December 26 to 29. He added that this is silver jubilee year of the festival, therefore, this year the festival will be organised in special manner. During the review meeting collector Bhondwe allocated the works to all the officials concerned. During this review meeting, DIG Shashank Garg and other district level officials were also present.
