BHOPAL : TT Nagar police on Wednesday registered a case against director of RD Memorial College of Ayurveda, Ratibad, and two teaching staff for beating the students after a demonstration staged by National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) members who also called on SP Anusuman Singh demanding immediate action against the college management and board of directors.
The SP had assigned CSP TT Nagar to look into the matter. For the last two days, students were demonstrating on the Ratibad based college campus to protest college management’s indifferent attitude towards the students living in hostels. The college management seized the hostlers’ mobile handsets on the ground that at the time of admission they had singed the affidavit stating that they would not to use mobile phones in college campus and hostels.
On this ground, the college management seized the mobile handsets from the students.
This action of the management triggered resentment among the students who staged a demonstration raising voice against the management on Monday night. Ratibad police was called in the campus and students were pacified. On Tuesday, again the students protested against the management on this issue and consequently, they were allegedly beaten by the college staff. Vivek Tripathi of the NSUI said, “We demonstrated at office of CSP (TT Nagar) and demanded immediate FIR to be registered against the College management. We also called on SP Ansuman Singh who assigned CSP, TT Nagar, RD Bharadwaj to look into the matter.” CSP Bharadwaj, while talking to Free Press, said, “An FIR has been lodged against Hemant Singh Chuahan, Vipin Jain and Deepak Jain for beating the students of RD Memorial College of Ayurved. Hemant Singh Chauhan is director of the college while Vipin Jain and Deepak Jain are teaching staff members of the college.”
