Bhopal: As Lok Sabha election draws near, its preparation and voter awareness programmes in Malwa and Nimar region are in full swing. District election offices have introduced innovative ideas to encourage people to vote. Patients visiting OPDs in government hospitals are being motivated. The slips issued for OPDs carry interesting messages. District election offices are leaving no opportunity to spread voter awareness specially in rural areas be it National Rural Livlihood Mission programme or events organised by Aanganwadis. Mehandi rang layegi?
Alot: Mehendi competition with an appeal to vote without fear is the latest in a series of campaigns launched by women and child development department. Project officer Barkha Joshi said girls and women from ward number 9 participated in the competition based on theme, ‘Vote Hamara Adhikar Hai’ (Vote is our right).
Voting ‘qubul’ karo
Khandwa: A Muslim bride and groom along with attendees took an oath to vote without fail in Baldi development block on Monday. They urged their relatives to spread awareness about importance of voting. A similar oath was taken by medical officials and doctors at community health centre. Apart from this, a quiz was organised in BEd College regarding voter awareness, informed RK Sen, principal of school of excellence.
Potters roped in
Khandwa: SVEEP officials inspired potters, selling pots to keep the water cool in summers, to get involved in the vote awareness campaigns on Tuesday. As a result, the potters decorated their pots with election-friendly slogans, which urge people to vote on election day. These pots can be found near Teen Puliya. Apart from this, officials reached fair organised in Dhwadi village and demonstrated the process of using EVMs and VVPAT machines. They urged villagers to cast their vote on May 6.
