BHOPAL : The Govindpura police, on Tuesday, got concrete evidence of the location of the fraudster couple, involved in duping more than a dozen persons to the tune of more than Rs 1 crore. The couple used to target women of well-to-do families, who were later cheated by them in the name of investment opportunities and borrowing money for some urgent need.
Police said that the accused Neelesh Daga and his wife Neeta Daga were traced on the basis of their mobile phone locations and the hints provided by their acquaintances and complainants. A police team has left for Indore where the couple is said to be hiding and they would be caught by Tuesday night.
The matter came to light after a complaint was lodged by a Thailand-based businessman’s wife who came to Bhopal for treatment of her son and was duped by the couple in the name of investing in their firm and become a partner.
CSP Govindpura Shiv Dayal said the couple was booked after more than a dozen complaints were received alleging that the duo had taken money for ‘investment’ but had provided no returns, quoting different excuses.
The couple used to live in a rented apartment in Minal Residency. Neelesh Daga, who worked with Telebrands and Surgicals Agency located in Indrapuri, introduced himself as its owner.
