PKC, Ken-Betwa Project Will Stop Migration, Says Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav

He said PKC project was not only for Malwa but for entire Chambal area.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Parvati Kalisindh Chambal (PKC) link project and Ken Betwa river link projects are not only going to increase the irrigation area but will also prevent migration.

This was stated by chief minister Mohan Yadav while giving statement in Assembly over both river link projects of the state on Wednesday. He said PKC project was not only for Malwa but for entire Chambal area. The entire cost of the project is Rs 72,000 crore and state needs to give only 10% of it.

The rest will be given by the Centre. Yadav said PKC project was in joint coordination with Rajasthan. A sum of Rs 35,000 crore will be spent in Madhya Pradesh under the project, which will cover 13 districts of state and 21 districts of Rajasthan. It will help in containing migration.

Asking Opposition MLAs to give suggestions of river link of their areas, he also spoke about Ken-Betwa river link project. It will cost Rs 1 lakh crore and state will give 10% of it. The Centre will give Rs 90,000 crore to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

PM has given the consent to inaugurate the project on December 25. It will stop migration in Bundelkhand belt.
