BHOPAL : Congress leaders were put under house-arrest till PM Narendra Modi was in Bhopal on Thursday. Even invitation card which was delivered at Indore address for Congress spokesman KK Mishra was withdrawn the previous night. Heavy police was deployed at residence of Congress spokesman KK Mishra, Congress corporator Monu Saxena, Youth Congress state chief Manoj Shukla and they were not allowed to venture out from their residence till Modi was in Bhopal.
PCC spokesman KK Mishra said, “We were not allowed to venture out from residence as heavy police was deployed at our residences. Even invitation card to attend World Hindi Sammelan, which was delivered at Indore address, was taken back. In spite of it, we succeeded in distributing 5,000 copies of booklet Vyapam scam among delegates at Vishwa Hindi Sammelan at Lal Parade. We distributed the copies to West Bengal Governor Kesrinath Tripathi and other delegates.”
Congress Corporator Monu Saxena said, “We had planned to show back flag to PM Narendra Modi over Vyapam scam as Modi had promise to eradicate corruption so as name of CM is also coming in Vyapam scam so why Modi is not taking resignation from CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. So we wanted to remind Modi his own promises and nothing else. We never opposed World Hindi Convention. But unfortunately, police were deployed even since night and we were put under house arrest. It is very unfortunate part of this system.”
