BHOPAL :  After a meeting with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday the Sarpanchs are furious, alleging that their demands have not been accepted by the CM. They vented their ire just outside the CM House, after the Mahapanchayat (meeting) organised for the tri-level Panchayat representatives at CM house to discuss their demands regarding their financial and other powers.

The state president of Sarpanchs organisation, BD Shukla said that Panchs and Sarpanchs have protested the current system of remuneration and demanded other powers.

He alleged that after meeting with Chauhan, they are feeling cheated, as the CM has done nothing on their demands. The other Sarpanchs also alleged that they have staged a demonstration demanding more powers for the tri-level panchayat system.

However, Shukla said it is the district panchayat presidents who have gained what they wanted but the sarpanchs have just been denied the power. He alleged that the coordinator of the tri-level panchayat body, DP Dhakad has joined the BJP and will be fielded in the upcoming elections on the party’s ticket. The district panchayat presidents will also have yellow beacon for their cars. Moreover, they will soon have financial powers also.

They alleged that the district panchayat presidents have used them for their benefits and the sarpanchs are left behind.

The delegation was scheduled to meet the CM on Sunday. Several other office-bearers also reached the CM house along with the delegation and wanted to enter the premises.

They were denied entry after which some of them got furious and walked back.

Among them the district panchayat president of Indore, Kavita Patidar left the CM House without attending the meeting.

Later the office-bearers were permitted to attend the meeting, but many of them had already left.
