BHOPAL : The local police have served a notice to MP Congress Committee key spokesman KK Mishra for dragging chief minister’s wife Sadhna Singh name in an alleged mining scam of Balaghat district.
Habibganj police, acting on a private complaint filed by advocate Sanjay Naik seeking papers which the Congress spokesman released in press conference last month to level the allegations, filed the complaint.
The police said the papers were forged and there was no such mine allotted to any of chief minister’s relative in the district as per the complaint. The State government had already issued clarification on the issue.
“The notice has been served on the Congress leader Mishra on the complaint filed an advocate some days ago. He has been asked to submit documents on the basis of which he levelled the allegation under section 160 of CrPC,” said Habibganj police station in-charge Sudhir Arjaria.
The police officer said, the papers had been sought for investigation. There is no case registered at present.
Seeking CBI probe, Mishra had stated 17.9 acre land was allotted in Ponia village in Balaghat district to SS Minerals firm through order issued on October 11, 2006 for ten years from January 11, 2007 and the firm was owned by SS Chauhan. Mining lease was allotted on land record (khasra) no 83, 85/2, 125/2, 128, 128, 84, 85/1, 80/2, 80/2 and 80/2, 81/1-2, overlooking the norms. This was the land part of reserved forest and the union government had reserved mining on it for Manganese Ore India Ltd (MOIL).
The Government immediately issued clarification with papers that the mining lease was allotted to one Lela Bhalavi and his son was operating it.
