Bhopal: Cracking a whip on class bunking, authorities of Gandhi Medical College (GMC) have taken a serious stand on low attendance on Friday and issued clear instructions to undergraduate students as well as faculties. Divisional commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat visited GMC on Friday and stressed on proper attendance of students.
He said, “Efforts are being made to improve the academic standard in GMC by cracking a whip on students who bunk classes. I took a feedback from students and convened a meeting with faculties. I have instructed them to ensure proper attendance. Students too have been instructed to attend the regular classes. Strict views in such cases would be in the larger interest of not only the student, but also of the institution or university.”
GMC administration instructed the students saying no sympathy would be shown to those falling short of required attendance as allowing them to appear in examinations will lead to total academic chaos. According to students, undergraduate students of GMC across the State skip regular classes in colleges and attend private tuition classes, to the extent that they even bunk the clinical tutorials in the medical colleges because they find no utility of classes in their colleges.
