BHOPAL : Pubic health engineering minister Kusum Mehadale, on the very next day of a presentation on drinking water crisis in the state before Prime Minister Narendra Modi by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has issued a surprising statement.
Mehadale, who was in Shivpuri to attend a meeting of district planning committee, interacting with journalists said that there is no machine to manufacture water. She said no one except God can give water. Mehadale said God did was responsible for deficient rains. Minister said no one could help if underground water table recedes.

It is interesting that Chouhan on Tuesday had told PM Modi that the state government, nothwithstanding deficient rains for two years in a row, had managed to ensure availability of water.
Construction activities banned in Shivpuri, Damoh
Minister for public health engineering Kusum Mehadale has issued instructions to collectors to get all private and government construction works stopped in Shivpuri and Damoh districts grappling with a serious drinking water crisis. In her letter, Mehadale instructed that besides stopping construction works, use of water in vehicle servicing centres and manufacturing of bricks should also be stopped by the end of June to tackle drinking water problem. She also directed to acquire private water bodies in the districts.
Mehadale said severe drinking water crisis was the result of deficient rains for three years in a row, which has led to fall in underground water table. There is need to conserve water in the coming months for adequate arrangement of drinking water.
