BHOPAL : NIA court on Tuesday transferred RSS leader Sunil Joshi murder case to Dewas court after finding that it was not unlawful activities and it was simple murder case. NIA submitted all the documents including Anand Raj Kataria confession.

On August 19, NIA had filed challan which was just continuation of Dewas police challan. Only three names were added to previous one.

NIA had already dropped charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Hindu terror against Pragya Singh Thakur and others in RSS leader Sunil Joshi murder case in a challan.

NIA had mentioned ‘licentious advances’ and ‘business’ rivalry as the motives for murder. Three more names- Lokesh Sharma, BJM leader Jitendra Sharma and Rajendra Chaudhary- were added as accused in the challan.

A challan was filed by Dewas police on March 1, 2011 against five accused- Pragya Thakur, Anand Raj Kataria, Harshad Solanki, Ramcharan Patel and Vasudev Parmar under various sections of IPC including 302 ( murder) and 120B ( criminal conspiracy), besides the Arms Act. Now the total number of accused in the case is eight. Joshi was shot in Dewas on December 29, 2007.

The MP High Court had transferred the case from Dewas district court to the Special Court of National Investigation Agency in Bhopal in November 2011.

Defense counsel Shrish Shrivastava, who appeared on the behalf of Pragya Thakur, said, “NIA submitted all the documents to the court in today hearing. And the court designated only for NIA (un-lawful activities), has transferred the case to Dewas district court where case will be tried as simple murder case”.
