BHOPAL : NHDC celebrated its 17th Foundation Day with pomp and show on Monday at Samanvay Bhawan.
The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp by the minister of state (Independent Charge) NVDA Lal Singh Arya and other dignitaries along with K.M. Singh, chairman, NHDC, R.S. Mina, managing director, NHDC, Jayant Kumar, director (finance), NHPC, Savitri Shrivastava, member of Board of Directors, NHDC and Dhiman Parija, chief executive director, NHDC.
On this occasion, Arya appreciated NHDC for Hydropower generation of 2932.89 million units from Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar Projects in the financial year 2015-16. He also praised the company for fulfilling the peak power demand of the state. He also assured co-operation of the government for new proposed projects of NHDC.
K.M. Singh informed about NHDC’s achievements as well as financial status.
R.S. Mina praised all the employees for the company’s successful 16-year-long journey. Dhiman Parija, chief executive director, NHDC gave an account of the company’s past performance.
A Kavi Sammelan was organised in which popular poets Surendra Sharma along with his team Sudeep Bhola, Govind Rathi and Seeta Sagar enthralled all the viewers with their humorous performance. During the cultural programme songs and dances were performed by various artists.
General Managers, chief engineers and other senior officers and employees of NHDC along with their family members attended the programme.
Besides, Kavi Sammelan, and evergreen film songs including ‘ye shaam mastani…,’ ‘ye ratein nai purani…,’ ‘tumsa nai dekha…,’ et al. were presented which mesmerised the audience.
