Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh): Six players of the district shone in a Karate competition and won 13 medals, including gold. The competition was held in the BHU indoor stadium in Varanasi. United Shito Ryu Karate Association India organised the competition.

Besides India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan participated in the competition. A six-member team led by Sihan Brijesh Gharu excelled in the competition.

Mayamani Lodhi won the gold in one category and a silver medal in another category. India was number one in the competition, Nepal was second and Bhutan got the third place.

School kids get tips on kabaddi

The youth welfare department has organised a camp for children to impart training in various sports. The purpose of the camp is to keep children fit during the summer vacation. The department organises such camps during the summer vacation every year.

The camp is functioning following the directives of sports and youth welfar officer Sunita Yadav. Coordinator of the camp Vikas Sharma is teaching the technical aspects of Kabaddi.

The camp, being held on the campus of the Singhpur high school in Bada village, began from May 1. It will continue till May 31. The volleyball players of nearby villagers may also participate in the camp.
