Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh government has announced to celebrate ‘Jan Kalyan Parv‘ from December 11 to December 26. The festival is specially meant for the welfare of farmers, youth, women and poor people. The dates were finalised during the cabinet meeting held at Mantralaya on Wednesday.

Briefing media persons about cabinet decisions, minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have signed an MoU of ₹ 7.5k crore regarding Parvati, Kalisind, Chambal river link project, and shortly, Memorandum of Agreement will also be signed.

The project is going to benefit 294 villages of eleven districts including Sehore, Indore, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Guna, Shivpuri and others. The project will create an irrigation facility in 6 lakh hectares of 294 villages.

Geeta Jayanti will also be celebrated in the state with great enthusiasm

A cabinet sub committee is already in existence to formulate the new excise policy. Its members include finance minister Jagdish Dewda. This time, minister Govind Singh Rajput has also been included in it. 

Meanwhile, a process to procure soybean has been initiated and 2.4 lakh metric tonne soybean has been procured from farmers so far . To sell paddy, 7. 68 lakh farmers have registered till now.

CM Mohan Yadav has instructed ministers to visit their districts and make sure the farmers shall not face any kind of difficulty in selling their produce.

Roads to be widened for Simhastha 

Recently, Ratapani was entitled to Tiger Reserve status and therefore, a buffer zone will be created at the site. It would be ensured that villagers shall not face any kind of problem in this regard. Likewise, the government will develop Madhav National park for which NTCA has given in principle consent to grant tiger reserve status.

Decisions were also taken in connection with preparations for Ujjain’s Simhastha, which include turning a two way lane road of by-pass into four lane. The length of this road is 20 km. Administrative approval of ₹701 crores has been given in this regard.
