Monsoon covers entire Madhya Pradesh but rain deficit stands at 13%

Against the normal rainfall of 156.1mm during the season up till now, Madhya Pradesh received 135.6mm showers, about 13 % less, according to the meteorological department report.

Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): Against the normal rainfall of 156.1mm during the season up till now, Madhya Pradesh received 135.6mm showers, about 13 % less, according to the meteorological department report. Report has been prepared on the basis of rainfall from June till July 3. West and East divisions have  13 % deficient rainfall each, while the districts on the northern parts of the state have recorded surplus rain.

The quantum of rainfall received by Sheopur is 156.5mm, which is 66 per cent more than the normal rainfall of 94mm for this duration

Gwalior so far has received 132.5mm while normal rainfall is 88.6mm- 50 % more. Vidisha recorded 22% surplus rainfall. The rainfall here stood at 208 mm as against a normal of 170mm during this period. Shivpuri has recorded 134.4mm rainfall while normal rainfall is 139.8mm- 11% surplus.

Ashok Nagar has recorded 25% surplus rainfall, Morena 22%, Sagar 14%, Khandwa 14%, Ujjain 8% and Guna 8%.

While Alirajpur district has seen deviation with 73 per cent less rainfall, Indore 36% and Bhopal 24 % from the average expected rainfall during this period.

Bhopal recorded 119 mm rainfall so far while normal during this period is 156.9mm. Indore so far has received 91.3mm rainfall against the normal of 141.7 rainfall.

Heavy rain alert sounded in 30 dists : Yellow alert has been issued for rain and thundershower in 30 districts in Madhya Pradesh. Besides, lightning is likely in six divisions like Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Shahdol has also been issued, said weatherman.

Yellow Alert: Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Anuppur, Umaria, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Seoni, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Mandla, Katni, Betul, Narmadapura, Sagar, Damoh, Khandwa, Khargone, Agar, Shajapur, Indore, Dhar, Ujjain, Ratlam, Dewas, Alirajpur, Guna, Mandsaur.

In the last 24 hours, Batiagarh recorded 10cm rainfall, Seoni 9cm,  Bijadandi and Shamshabad 8cm each, Narainganj, Bargi and Tirala 7cm each. Chinore, Barghat, Ghatigaon recorded 6cm rainfall while 5cm rainfall has been recorded at many places like Berasia, Udainagar, Manasa, Gairatganj, Ashok Nagar etc.
