Mayor launches ‘Mahapaur Smart Pass’

BHOPAL :  Mayor Alok Sharma on Wednesday launched ‘Mahapaur-Smart Pass’ for low-floor buses of My Bus Public Transport Services. The benefits have been given to senior citizens, disabled persons, students, accredited journalists, government employees of various boards and corporations and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).

As per the rules, Rs 800 per month has been fixed for the passes. But for students with disability (over 25 per cent) it will be issued for Rs 200 with 75 per cent concession. For working women, employees of various boards and corporations, BMC, Rs 400 would be charged after   concession. For others it will be at Rs 800 valid for a month.

For Mantralaya, passes will be issued at Vindhyachal Bhavan for the employees of Vallabh Bhavan, Satpura, Vindhyachal. And soon, it will be available at zone level.

Mayor Alok Sharma instructed BMC commissioner Tejaswi Naik to ensure the pass services at all the 19 zones. He also flagged off low-floor buses for SR-07 route. Sixteen buses will be operated from Nadra Bus stand to Patel Nagar Bypass Road through Mantralaya.

Higher Education Minister Uma Shankar Gupta said, “Services should be provided from the Public Utility centre which opened last time, for working women, sanitation workers and others.” Minister also instructed for construction of Public lavatory at Jayanti Park and hawkers corner at   Mantralaya.
