BHOPAL: A 62-year-old man who was manhandled by a money lender at his home over a matter related to delay in payment died on Friday morning. Police had already registered a case against the loan shark on Thursday under sections 323, 506, 452 and 327 of the IPC and started investigations. TI Salil Sharma talking to Free Press said that the deceased Mohan Lal Chetwani, 62, resident of Sweet Residency near Filter Pump within the limits of Shahjehanabad police station on Thursday in his complaint stated that accused Dilip Balwani had loaned his son Vinod a sum of Rs 75000 for business against which he had given him a post dated cheque. On Thursday Balwani came to his house and asked him to repay the loan at once. Chetwani requested him that he was not having money at that time and that he would repay the loan as soon as possible. This made Balwani furious and he started beating him up. Chetwani somehow managed to get away from the clutches of Balwani and reached the Shahjehanabad police where he filed a complaint against Balwani.
On Thursday night Chetwani complained of restlessness and his family members took him to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The Kin of Chetwani alleged that he died due to the incident that took place between him and Balwani and accused Balwani of killing him. TI Sharma said that the short post-mortem report stated that Chetwani died of heart attack and multiple pathological disorders. He said that police was waiting for the full PM report after which further decision would be taken. Balwani was on the run while investigations were ongoing in the case.
