BHOPAL: Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel will be sworn in as 30th Governor of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh Justice Mohammad Rafiq will administer the oath at 11.30 am at Raj Bhawan.
Raj Bhawan officials said that considering Covid pandemic, the programme will be held with limited and selected invitees. Besides, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and members of his Cabinet, invitation has also been sent to the Leader of Opposition Kamal Nath.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, who has the additional charge of MP, is also in Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has met Patel on Wednesday morning at Raj Bhawan.
Mangubhai Patel arrived in Bhopal on Wednesday evening. Chouhan and home minister Narottam Mishra was at the state hangar and accorded welcome to Patel.
The oath-taking ceremony will be organised with strict Covid protocols, said the Raj Bhawan official. Over 100 people, including officials and ministers, are expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony as the Raj Bhawan hall has a capacity of about 200 people.
