BHOPAL: On Tuesday residents of the city including workers of different political parties remained glued to their television sets throughout the day to know the election results. Though MP witnessed a seesaw battle between the BJP and Congress as the results trickled in, the workers of the grand old party celebrated outside the party headquarters in the state capital.

Congress leaders including state president Kamal Nath, member of parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia and members of parliament Rajya Sabha Vivek Tankha reached the Pradesh Congress Committee office around 11 am. Ex- CM Digvijaya Singh reached the office at around 2.15 pm. Congress’ top four leaders sat in the meeting hall where a big LED screen was installed, from where they tracked news coming from the district headquarter. Tankha and the team of advocates from High Court too kept their eyes on every input.

The leaders kept asking the candidates about problems they are facing. The atmosphere outside the office was euphoric, a big LED screen was installed in the hall and supporters kept on watching the news feed of various channels. They cheered every news favouring their party and raised slogans like ‘Rahul Gandhi jindabad, ‘Sonia Gandhi jindabad’ and Congress Party jindabad’.

The supporters also raised the slogans for Kamal Nath and Scindia, however the frequency of the sloganeering in the favour of Nath was more. Some of the supporters brought the three clubs for the three leaders Nath, Scindia and Digvijaya Singh. The supporters were so enthusiastic that on each swing of trend they bursted crackers amid sloganeering.
