Neemuch: Upset over party’s surprise reshuffle, Congress leader and ticket aspirant from Neemuch Madhu Bansal filed her nominations as an Independent candidate.Only couple of days back, Bansal filed her nominations claiming herself to be the Congress candidate on her nomination form and said that she filed her nominations keeping the “Shubh Muhurat” (auspicious moment) in mind. At that time, she claimed that she performed her duties and now the ball is in the party’s court and she will follow whatever party decides.

Barely, 48-hours later, she expressed her anguish over party’s decision and said that even after years of dedication and hard work, party has ignored her. She said that it’s simple for party workers like me that if we need ticket, we need to be rebels first and that’s why I’m in the fray.

Here in Neemuch, Congress announced Satyanarayan Patidar as its official candidate. Sources claimed that Patidar anticipating his candidature from Jawad seat had not applied for a ticket from Neemuch seat and in that condition, Bansal emerged as the front runner. But last minute reshuffle not only surprised many, but shattered Bansal’s dream.  Not only Neemuch, but Congress threw surprises in all three constituencies namely – Neemuch, Jawad and Manasa. Notably, Congress lost all three seats here in Neemuch during previous elections so now it’s a do or die situation for the party.

In 2013, Kailash Chawla of BJP won Manasa seat defeating Vijendra Singh of Congress by margin of 1,028 votes, Dilip Singh Parihar of BJP defeated Nandkishore Seni by margin of 21,667 votes from Neemuch seat and Omprakash Saklecha of BJP defeated Rajkumar Ahir by margin of 13,651 votes from Jawad seat.
