Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): While the government is cutting crores of trees for diamonds in Buxwaha Forest under the Chhatarpur district, Prashant Mahat of Chhatarpur and his family are struggling for the last 10 years to save a tree.
Notably, about 10 years ago, Prashant's mother had brought a mango plant. The family members planted the tree in the middle of the house in the aangan. Within a few years, the plant grew and started bearing fruits.
A few years later, the family decided to reconstruct a cloth showroom in the house. Reconstructing required cutting the tree but they were not willing to cut the tree.
Taking a unique initiative, they decided to build the house and the showroom without cutting the tree.
They modified and built the house with the tree located centrally crossing two terraces.
The tree spreads from the ground floor to the second floor. The special thing is that the roof of the building has been made in such a way that there is no harm to the mango tree.
"The tree is like our family. It has been with us in happiness and sorrows and we cannot cut it merely for our business," said Prashant Bhambha, the eldest son of the house,
At present, two clothing showrooms are functional in the building. People who come to buy clothes surely give a glance at the tree.
"The price of the building is around 25 crores, but to save the tree, it has been modified so that there is no harm to the mango tree," added Prashant.
