BHOPAL: The death toll of passengers from Madhya Pradesh in the Indore-Patna train mishap had risen to 28 by Monday afternoon and it may grow. Eight passengers from Bhopal, including an 11-year-old, were killed in the major accident.
According to reports, 27 out of the deceased have been identified and one is still unidentified. From Bhopal, Jitesh Maurya, Poonam Tiwari, Geeta Singh, Ragini Singh, Rajesh Singh, Sanjay, Priyanka and Triyanshu have their lost lives. Triyanshu is only 11. The exact number of injured from the state is yet to be known. About 35 passengers are being treated in different hospitals of Kanpur.
From Bhopal the eight injured patients have been identified as Prem Kumar, Arun Sharma, Nupoor Sharma, Divyansh Sharma, Anil, Chandravati Gupta, Meera and Kusum Singh. ASP Chhatarpur, Neeraj Pandey, who is working with the rescue team at Kanpur, said that the number of deaths can rise because all the bodies have not been identified yet. Minister for Public relation, Dr Narottam Mishra is monitoring the rescue work at the spot along with a team of 20 doctors and police officials.
