BHOPAL : Junior Doctors Association (JUDA) postponed its indefinite strike after a meeting with Health minister Narottam Mishra on Saturday. JUDA has convened its meeting on Monday to chalk out next course of action.
Junior doctors were on strike for the last couple of days in protest against non-fulfillment of their demands-hike in stipend, bank guarantee for higher education loan and up-gradation of swine flue wards and other medical facilities.
Though JUDA was running parallel OPD but the medical services in Hamidia Hospital were totally paralysed.
JUDA general secretary Dr Tanmany said, “All the JUDA units were called for meeting by Health minister Narottam Mishra and minister assured to consider the demands-stipend hike, bank guarantee of education loan, and up- gradation of medical services in Hamidia Hospital.
On minister’s assurance, we decided to postpone our strike as dengue and swine flu cases are on rise in the state so we decided to resume duty. On Monday, we have convened our meeting to chalk out next course of action over indefinite strike.”
JUDA president Dr Adarsh Vajpayee said, “Our main demands were hike in stipend and up-gradation of wards made for swine flu and Dengue patients. Health minister Narottam Mishra has assured to consider the demands so we have decided to resume our duty for the treatment of swine and dengue patients.”
