BHOPAL: AIIMS, Bhopal will set up a ‘screening OPD’ to diagnose patients, while only those suffering from chronic diseases would be admitted to the ace medical facility and institute for quality treatment, said AIIMS Director and CEO, Prof Sarman Singh.
The day is not far when seasonal ailments and other common illness will be restricted to ‘Screening OPD’ and only chronic disease referred cases will be entertained at the ace medical facility, the rest would be referred to the other government hospitals, informed the director.
Singh, who completed his one year at AIIMS, Bhopal on Tuesday shared his achievements and also the upcoming projects at the country’s ace institute. AIIMS, Bhopal is one of the associate Medical Colleges in National Knowledge Network (NKN) connecting 52 Medical Colleges across the country to share update knowledge in the field, said Singh.
On the day, the much awaited Advanced & Basic life support Ambulance Service under Trauma and Emergency Department of Hospital was flagged off by the director.
Singh informed that the Emergency and Trauma services, as promised, have been started 24x7 for the people.
The director also launched the `Ayushman Bharat’ scheme under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the OPD area of the AIIMS.
Besides, he also inaugurated `Blood Component Separation Unit and Aphaeresis Facility at Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank department of the Hospital. RDA Canteen on AIIMS premises and a Deanery Block at the Medical College were also inaugurated on the day.
