Has already pledged Rs 500 cr for food park at Pithampur
BHOPAL : After Pithampur, Baba Ramdev is now said to be toying with the idea of setting up a mega food park at Rewa.
Ramdev has been given major relaxations in the mandatory conditions for setting of food processing projects in the state. Perhaps that has led to Ramdev deciding to invest more in the state.
Ramdev’s company Patanjali Ayurveda Limited is likely to set up a food park on a 400-acre piece of land at Rewa. Industries minister Rajendra Shukla and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited’s Acharya Balkrishna had a meeting at Delhi in the recent past in connection with the proposal. Balkrishna has given his consent to invest Rs 1000 crore in setting up of a plant for manufacturing wheat flour. The issue allotment of land near Mauganj in Rewa for the project was also discussed in the meeting. Balkrishna has agreed to visit Rewa soon to choose the land.
Patanjali Ayurveda Limited is going to invest Rs 500 crore at Pithampur to set up a food park there. The government has allotted 40 acres of land for the project. The government has changed its Food Processing Policy to accommodate the demands of the Yoga guru.
Shukla said he had a discussion with Acharya Balkrishna, who showed interest in setting up a mega food park at Rewa. Shukla said if everything goes well, ‘Bhumipujan’ for the project would be performed soon.
