Shehdol : Many wide roads pass by Shehdol, but look rather like narrow lanes because of illegal encroachments, which keep covering these roads. It seems near to impossible for the administration, who has vowed to make these roads encroachment free, to remove them and make city better.

Many shopkeepers display the items they sell in their shops on the roads, because of which the road gets narrower. Even the traffic inspectors are not concerned about illegal encroachments, and are seen for an hour or two at the main squares of the city.

Admininstration spoke a lot—but did a little

While the city administration, some days ago was seen propagating the message of encroachment removal on loud speakers, but the warnings just seemed to words, and no action against the shopkeepers, who had illegally expanded their shops from the roadside to the roads. In short, neither the shopkeepers are trying to keep the roads wide, nor the city council is taking any efforts to do away with the encroachers.

Will there be any action?

It is to be noted that many big shop owners, from new Gandhi Chowk to the old Gandhi Chowk, have encroached the roads. The roads covering MLB school to Jain Temple keeps is one of the worst suffers of encroachments. Now the big question is—will the city council be able to free the roads of these encroachments?

Only petty shopkeepers undergo admin action

If people are to be believed, then city council has always taken action on the small petty shopkeepers, but no such action has been taken on the encroachers, who actually are big shopkeepers or businessmen. It has been witnessed that the corrective actions have only been taken against the petty shopkeepers.

We are taking actions

We are taking corrective actions, and if you are talking about the Natraj market, then we have served notice to all the encroachers, and if they do not shift, then we will take corrective measures Prakash Jagwani, President, City Council Shehdol
