What is Mauni Amavasya?
Mauni Amavasya (or a no-moon night) is considered an auspicious day as per Hindu mythology. It is believed that taking a dip in the holy river on the occasion helps devotees get rid of all health and wealth issues.
As a result, more and more people rushed to Mahakumbh in Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the Sangam (conjunction of the rivers Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati).
