Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a youth was beaten to death by family members of a minor, who allegedly eloped with youth’s younger brother, on Wednesday, sources said on Thursday. Deceased’s brother has sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhopal.
The incident took place at Maholi under Gunga police station area of Bhopal. According to police sources, Dinesh Kushwaha, 30 and his brother Malkhan Singh Kushwaha, 28, went to a Public Distribution Shop (PDS) in the village to purchase ration, when they were attacked by a group of people with sharp edge weapons and iron rods.
The duo brothers, who had sustained serious injuries, were rushed to a nearby hospital where Malkhan Singh was declared brought dead.
According to police, a case of and attempt to murder have been registered against six persons and efforts are on nab the accused .
Police sources said that Malkhan’s younger brother had eloped with a minor girl of the village. He, however, was later arrested and sent to jail. As the girl and youth belonged to different castes, the family members of the girl were upset with the youth and his family members.
Sources said that family members of the girl had earlier tried to attack youth's family members, too.
