BHOPAL : The survey for dengue has been increased to a large extent and large numbers of houses are being surveyed for finding and destroying dengue larvae. At the inception of survey in mid August, 59 teams were formed to conduct survey and it was declared by CMHO Dr Veena Sinha that a maximum of Rs 500 will be imposed as fine on houses where larvae is found more than once. Only 147 houses in the month of September were fined. When asked about the criteria for imposing fine, DMO Akhilesh Dubey said that fine was imposed keeping in mind the financial condition of the house and in areas like 74 Bungalows, 45 Bungalows, Char Imli, Saket Nagar, Malviya Nagar many influential people reside. “It is not possible for us to impose fine on them,” he said. Houses in slums are avoided to be fined because of their low income.
On Thursday, 1179 houses in Lal Ghati, Airport Road, Koh-e-Fiza were surveyed and 178 houses were found with larvae.
