BHOPAL : A severed mutilated head of a new born dumped near a store house was spotted by Rajkumar, a factory worker, in Chawani on Friday. The chilling incident has sent shockwaves among the locals as the body of the child could not be traced.

The blood stained skull triggered rumours of witchcraft in the area as soon as the locals received information about it.

According to Bilkhiria police, the head which it has sent for the postmortem seemed to be of a child born within 25 days. As the body could not be traced police has not been able to conclude if the child was a male or female.

Superintendent of police (SP) South Rahul Kumar Lodha said that all the angles are being probed but we are counting on the postmortem report for leads in the case

He said that there are chances that it might be an unwanted child or it may even be a case of witchcraft. Police is scanning the footage of the CCTV cameras in the area for clue.
