HC notice to health director, PS over transferring med college seat

BHOPAL : High Court on Wednesday issued notices to director and principal secretary of health department to clarify their stand over transferring 21 seats of Modern Institute of Medical Science, Indore, to management quota instead of allocating to general candidates if there was no candidate of SC, ST and OBC categories.

Shubham Jain of Narsinghpur had filed a PIL in High Court against this irregularity.

Advocate Adtiya Sanghi, who appeared on behalf of the petitioner, said, “After allotting 15 per cent seats to NIR quota, there were 63 seats in Modern Institute of Medical Science and 21 seats were vacant as there was no candidate but as per the rules the reserved categories candidates are allotted seats in series first to SC, then to ST and then to OBC categories and if no candidate is available in counseling, seats will be allotted to general category but all the seats were transferred to management quota. HC issued notice to Director Health and PS health and they have to clarify stand within a week.”

HC orders med college to return documents to student

High Court on Wednesday instructed LN Medical College, Bhopal, to hand over original documents to Bhopal based medical aspirant Anmol Srivastava. Besides, HC also instructed AIIMS for admission to Anmol Srivastava.

When Srivastava approached LN Medical College for original document for the admission in AIIMS, she was denied stating that she will have to deposit fee of next five years. The LN College charges Rs 1.5 lakh per year.

   Advocate Adtiya Sanghi, who appeared on behalf of petitioner, said, “High Court has also instructed notices to Director Health in the case of LN Medical College of Bhopal on the petition of Anmol Srivastava. Anmol had appeared in AIIMS entrance test and All India PMT.

   But as counseling of AIPMT had started earlier so Anmol was allotted LN Medical College, Bhopal. She submitted all the documents to LN Medical College. In the meantime, she received a call from AIIMS Delhi for admission in MBBS. She approached LN Medical College for the original documents but she was denied stating that she will have to deposit fee of 5 years. Rs 1.5 lakh is charged per years.

   She filed a petition in High Court. High Court instructed LN Medical College to hand over all original documents to Anmol Shrivastava. Instruction has also been issued to AIIMS for the admission to her.”
