Gwalior-born young Bollywood actor Kartik Aryan has been appointed as state icon for the LS polls. Aryan shot to fame with movies like Sonu Ke Teetu Ki Sweety and Pyar Ka Punchnama. Earlier, Govind Namdev from Sagar district, Palak Muchhal Bollywood singer hailing from Indore and Miss Deaf Asia 2018 winner Deshna Jain from Tikamgarh district have been appointed as state Icons for Lok Sabha polls in the state.
Srishti Jayant Deshmukh topper among women with an overall fifth rank in UPSC exams was also declared SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation programme) icon. The state already had two icons under the SVEEP plan, including TV and film actor Rajiv Verma and TV actor Divyanka Tripathi.
