Guna (Madhya Pradesh): Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two more members of notorious ‘Runaway Bride’ gang.

The accused have been identified as Mohar Singh Thakur, a resident of Guna and Manvoot Singh Yadav, a resident of village Lateri in Vidisha district.

Earlier, police had arrested six persons of the gang including four women and two men.

According to police, Lakhan Lodhi, 22, a resident of village Rupahedi under Chanchoda police station of the district, had lodged a complaint that he was duped by the gang on the pretext of marriage.

In his complaint, Lodhi claimed that he got married with Mamta Ahirwar after his father paid Rs 70,000 to the gang members. Matma later went back to her parent’s house and returned to his house only after his father again paid Rs 1.5 lakh, Lodhi told police.

Few days later, all members of the gang reached Lodhi’s house and forcefully took Mamta back.

Following Lodhi’s complaint, the police laid a trap and busted the gang. The police said that eight members of the gang had been arrested and efforts were on to nab the rest of them.
