Bhopal: To ginger up the thrill the FIFA World Cup-2018 has already generated among people of all ages in the city, some restaurants, clubs and hotels have decided to screen the final match of the tournament on special LED setup on July 15. Since the world cup has caught the imagination of Bhopalites, the clubs and restaurants have been screening the matches since June 14 last when the tournament began. It has increased their business by 30%, besides.
Manager of Spice Ring Restaurant on Airport-Gandhinagar Road, Abhishek Sharma told Free Press, “Earlier, we used to show the World Cup and IPL cricket matches. But this is the first time we are screening world cup football matches on a projector in our Root 12 Lounge since June 14 to meet the demand of football lovers. We will now screen the final match. Our business has increased by 30% due to the tournament.”
He said, “Around 50 people, mostly youth from Arera Colony, MP Nagar and its nearby areas, watch the matches daily. Though the closing time of our restaurant is 12am, we keep it open till 1am due to matches.” Owner of Dana Pani Restaurant, Arera Colony, Pranab Pradhan said, “We have to screen the final match of the world cup after receiving good response from the good response from public since we started screening matches. Our business has increased by 25%.”
“People of all age groups frequent this place to see the matches. Football fans book around 30 tables daily,” Pradhan added. Owner of K2 Club and Lounge, Chunabhatti, Vivek Shivhare said, “We have been screening matches on two LED screens – one is installed on rooftop and another is inside the club. People are enjoying lunch and liquor. We are even offering 40% discount, besides the game.” To a question whether the final match will be shown, he said, “Yes, we will do it.”
