BHOPAL : MP Alok Sanjar wants that the Double Decker train should be shifted to Indore as Bhopal Railway division is bearing huge loss in operating it. A meeting between all MPs and the railways officials is going to be held on November 2 and Sanjar will raise the issues.
The MP, while talking to the Free Press, said, “I will discuss about shifting the double Decker train to operate it from Indore instead of operating from Bhopal in loss. There is huge loss in operating double Decker from Bhopal and it is the railway which is bearing it.”
The double decker, a superfast AC train service connecting Bhopal to Indore, was introduced in September 2013. It consists of 11 AC coaches. All of its classes are GPS enabled and provide information such as current train speed, distance to final destination, distance to next stop, stoppage station name and timing performance on an LCD display.
Many times Railway officials have lamented raising the issue of lack of sufficient passengers load for Double Decker as AC buses have robbed off its charm as they are more convenient for passengers.
“Secondly, inclusion of Bairagarh with Bhopal division is a long pending issue and I will again raise it in the meeting. At present, it is part of Ratlam division”, he said, adding, “I will also demand more trains for Simhastha-2016 to be held at Ujjain for convenience of devotees.”
Sanjar said, “I am going to demand direct trains from Bhopal to Lucknow, Chhapra (Bihar), Pune and Raipur. The train to Chhapra is a must as there are many people of Bihar in Bhopal and they need it. So I will raise the issue in the meeting.”
“I will also raise the issue to pass Jammu Tawi Malwa Express through Bairagarh instead of Bhopal as it takes time at Bhopal Railway station. I will demands more good trains from Bairagarh to Gujarat and other states to promote business,” MP Sanjar added.

A meeting of MPs of Bhopal Railway division of Western Central Railways (WCR) will be held on November 2 at Noor us Sabah. There will be discussion of facilities for the passengers. General Manager (Railway) Ramesh Chandra is arriving Bhopal to attend the meeting.
