Doctor complains of dowry harassment

BHOPAL: A doctor lodged a complaint of dowry harassment against her husband and brother-in-law at Mahila Thana. The victim alleged that she was thrown out from the house as she could not meet dowry demand of Rs 20 lakh. According to police, the 35-year-old complainant Shweta Tiwari of Saint Hirdaram College campus in Bairagarh and was a doctor by profession. In her complaint she stated that in the year 2007, her marriage was solemnized with Bhaskar Kumar Singh who was native of Bihar. After marriage all things were going well and the couple was living happy married life. The trouble started in the year 2013, when her husband Bhaskar and his elder brother started torturing her over dowry demand to bring cash of Rs 20 lakh from her parent’s house. However when the victim could not meet demand, she was thrown out from the house after which the victim started residing at her parent’s house and then she lodged a complaint of dowry harassment against them.
