Neemuch : Rains continued for the third day on Wednesday in Neemuch, which badly affected the low lying areas of the town, while the ponds and nullahs are over flowing with water, there have been reports of loss of life and property.
Walls of a house situated in Tarapur area of the district crashed down, under the influence of rains, which injured six.
The water level at the Jaju dam, too has risen one and half times because of the rains. Water has entered many parts of the city and has affected scheme number 36 the most. Waters crossed the walls of Humariya dam and entered the near by Kotadi village, because of which more than 24 houses of the village have been affected. Angry villagers revolted to violence when SDM Rajendra Singh reached and inspected the spot.
On the other hand rains have served as a streak of light for the peasants who were a demoralized lot before. The fields which were on the verge of drying up now present a lush green picture. Some peasants had to sow the seeds again owing to late monsoon, as the seeds they had sown before did not fertilise.
