Zero tolerance on corruption to be guiding principle
BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan may have allocated portfolios as per the choice of his ministers but he is going to keep an eye on every department. Chauhan after coming to power for third time in the state has made state’s development and no compromise with corruption to be his guiding principles. He has made clear in straight forward terms to his ministers that they would pay price for any irregularities taking place in their respective departments.

Chauhan has asked his ministers to maintain their hold in their respective departments and seek information on every issue from their officials. In cases where ministers fail to take out solution, then Chauhan would personally review the departmental working to remove any discrepancy.
A committee formed to give recommendations for improving in working of departments will submit its report in January and arrangements will be made to eliminate corruption and ensure transparency in working.Chauhan is also going to start internal vigilance system in government departments and there would a vigilance officer in every department to keep an eye on departmental working.
Public would also be able to lodge complaint to this officer.officer.The vigilance officer would directly report to departmental minister and the minister will sort the things out.Chief Minister Secretariat too would seek information from these vigilance officers on departmental activities.
Sources said that Chauhan has asked his ministers to make similar arrangements at district level too so that any corrupt act could be reported and could be dealt with strictly.Chauhan has also emphasised on paperless work in departments to tackle corruption.
This has been done to put an end to manipulation done in government files. Chauhan has also asked ministers to keep honest people with them.
Corruption will be rooted out: Chauhan
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that he has never done compromise on corruption in the past and will never do in future too. He said that he would practice zero tolerance policy on corruption and corrupts would be punished. He said that control on administrative set- up is underway and a campaign to aware public would also be launched.
