Clerk accepting bribe in Lokayukta net

BHOPAL: Lokayukta sleuths caught a clerk posted at collectorate red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 500 from a labourer on Tuesday afternoon.SP (Lokayukta) Siddharth Chaudhary said the victim Mahesh Patel, 30, of Bairagarh, a labourer at a mechanic shop applied for BPL card in the collectorate For this accused Suresh Kumar Ingle, posted as clerk in BPL issuing section of collectorate demanded bribe of Rs 1,000 from him for issuing the BPL card to him but later the deal was fixed in Rs 500.

Chaudhary further said, the victim complained in this regard with Lokayukta following which a trap was laid by the police and Mahesh was sent to the cabin of Ingle along with the bribe amount of Rs 500.Later as the accused took the amount from the victim, the sleuths caught him and booked him under several sections of Prevention of Corruption Act-1988.
