BHOPAL : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed two more cases in Vyapam scam in Contractual Teachers Recruitment Tests against 175 accused under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 along with several other sections of IPC, said agency sources.
Former minister Lamxikant Sharma, terminated officers of Vyapam, Nitin Mahindra, CK Mishra and Ajay Sen, and suspended controller Dr Pankaj Trivedi were accused earlier in both the cases. Charge-sheets have already been filed against them and candidates by STF under different sections of IPC and MP Recognised Examinations Act.
The CBI sources said now, the case was registered against 99 accused under sections 120B r/w 201, 409, 417, 420, 467, 468, 471 of IPC; Sections 3(d)(1)(2) / 4 of the Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examinations Act, 1937; Sections 65 & 66 of the Information Technology Act; and section 7, 13(1)(d)(iii), 13(2) & 15 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. It pertains to illegalities conducted in the Samvida Shala Shikshak Patrata Pareeksha Varg-III. The test was conducted by Vyapam in the year 2011.
Another case has been registered against 76 persons the same sections of IPC and PC Act, IT Act, in Contractual Teachers Contractual School Teachers Eligibility Test – Grade-II, conducted in 2011.
The Vyapam officials had allegedly changed marks of more than hundreds candidates in the tests on the basis of list submitted by the minister through his OSD OP Shukla. Original marks of these candidates were less than the cut off marks on OMR sheets and in scanning data in the board.
