BHOPAL : Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Shashikant Sharma has appreciated the financial condition of the state.
In a meeting with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya here on Wednesday, he said control on fiscal deficit and other financial parameters was a good sign for future. Sharma also appreciated the growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) of the state.
Sharma said the progress in all schemes in the state is good. Chouhan told him that more emphasis is being given on the agriculture sector and development of social infrastructure.
A time limit has been fixed for completion of all schemes so that cost overruns can be avoided. Sharma also congratulated Chouhan for the successful conduct of Simhastha Kumbh fair.
Sharma told Chouhan that for the first time, local bodies are preparing report on expenditure. The central government has made rules for social audit with the help of CAG, which would help in bringing more financial transparency. He also emphasised on spending more on development of social infrastructure.
