BHOPAL: The candidates have to submit their photograph and the details about their nationality in new the format of the nomination forms for elections.
This information was given in the all-party meeting called by the state chief electoral officer here on Wednesday.
Joint chief electoral officer SS Bansal informed that the Election Commission has issued directives to this effect, which will be implemented in the Shahdol Lok Sabha and Nepanagar Vidhan Sabha by-elections.
Along with the photographs and details of nationality the candidate also has submit the ‘No Demand Certificate’ saying that he has no overdue rent, power, telephone bills and water tax.
The commission has instructed that party symbols should not be displayed at public places. The candidates cannot use government machinery, building and money in election campaign.
Along with posters and pamphlets the name of the printer and his telephone numbers will be printed on the hoardings and flex boards also.
New EVMs from Maharashtra will be used in both the elections. In the earlier by-polls, EVMs manufactured in 2006 were used.
