BHOPAL : Unidentified burglars broke into the house of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and trader in the Bairagarh area and decamped with booty of around Rs 9.5 lakh on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
The Bairagarh police, on the complaint of the victim, have registered a case against unidentified accused and started investigations.
According to the Bairagarh police, Manish Bagwani, son of Vasudev Bagwani, resident of 242, One Tree Hills Colony Bairagarh, who runs an ice-cream parlour in Bairagarh area, in his complaint stated that the incident took place between 2 and before 6 on Sunday night.
Manish Bagwani, talking to Free Press, said that he was an ice-cream wholesaler and runs “Jagdish Cold Drinks & Ice-Cream Parlour” at Bairagarh.
On Sunday night some unidentified thieves broke into a locked room on the first floor of his house through the neighbours’ house via the balcony.
He, along with his wife, was sleeping in the adjoining room while his parents were sleeping in another room on the same floor.
His brother along with his family was also sleeping in one of the bedrooms on the same floor.
The burglars entered the room and cut open the locks of the wooden almirah and stole cash of Rs 70-80 thousand, along with gold and silver jewellery. He said that the total stolen items were worth Rs 9.5 lakh.
SP (North) Arvind Saxena said that he visited the crime scene and instructed the FSL team to take fingerprints from the spot.
Prima facie, the police officer said, it seemed the handiwork of professional thieves. He said that investigations were on and the culprits would be soon behind bars.
Railway vendor’s house burgled
Some unidentified burglars stole jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the house of a railway vendor within the limits of Bajaria police station on Monday. Police on the complaint of the victim registered a case under section 380 of the IPC and started investigations. According to Bajaria police victim businessman Jayratnam, son of Sesu, resides at a rented house located in Dwarka Nagar. In his complaint he stated that he went out of station for some business purpose on July 24 and returned on Monday. During this time his wife R Mary stayed at the house.
