BMC razes encroachments on nullahs in Shivaji Nagar

BHOPAL : Shivaji Nagar proved a hard nut to crack for BMC administration while removing illegal constructions from nullah.

Nailing the influential persons, BMC team demolished the boundary wall, kitchen garden and other illegal constructions after heated argument in Shivaji Nagar on Thursday. Encroachment has also been removed from Ibrahimganj.

Most of the people have kitchen garden, plantation after putting slabs on nullah. Most of the part of the nullah has been covered in the name of greenery and environment conservation. It proved big headache for BMC administration to nail eco-friendly encroachers. Mayor Alok Sharma had confrontation with an industrialist at Shivaji Nagar over encroachment. Industrialist Baldev Raj Pansi, who is neighbour of Deputy Vidhan Sabha Rajendra Singh, had encroached upon nullahs for kitchen garden and boundary wall taking plea that BDA had allotted it. Mayor Sharma called the files for verification and found that it was BDA allotment of 1992.

BMC team removed the encroachment demolishing the boundary wall of Pansi. The team also demolished the slabs over nullah as all these were illegal constructions on nullah.

It was major anti-encroachment drive launched in posh colony after excessive rain. In Shivaji Nagar, BMC administration had to crack hard nut in removing in clearing encroachment.
