Bhopal: Keeping away from social media and break-free studies paid for Anuj Gupta, who came 13th in the CBSE- NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test), the results of which were declared on Friday.
Three MP students have found place in top 15, with two students from Indore and one from Bhopal. Additional director, medical education Dr Sashi Gandhi informed the admission process in the medical colleges would start in the state from mid-July. After the first round of national-level counselling the state will start the first round.
Talking to Free Press, Anuj Gupta informed that he had completed his studies from Campion School and in the board he had scored 91.4 per cent marks. He gave the mantra that to crack NEET one had to be constant in his studies, allowing himself break of not even a single day, because it broke the rhythm and also one had to devote more hours in studies.
Anuj will be the seventh member of the family to become MBBS doctor as his father Dr Rajiv Gupta is a cardiologist, mother Dr Sudha Gupta is a gynaecologist, his elder brother is also pursuing his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal. Father of Dr Rajiv was a professor of medicine in GMC and his sister is an ophthalmologist surgeon.
Anuj has also cracked the AIIMS exam notching 172nd rank. He said he would take admission in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, through all-India quota.
Eight hrs of daily study
He studied for eight hours daily, took normal sleep of eight hours, curtailed the playing/recreation hours and said no to social media. Anuj is not having a Facebook account, but has WhatsApp number on which he is in contact with his very close friends and only entertains academic information. The CBSE course and NEET exam course are very similar, but they have different exam pattern. Students have to match and also synchronise the courseware to achieve the exam result in their favour.
