Bhopal: People in the state capital raised the issue of acute water scarcity in their localities in the Mayor Chaupal on Monday. People complained about the low pressure and erratic water supply and stated that they are at the mercy of private water tankers suppliers.
Mayor Alok Sharma assured that the problems will be redressed with the Rs 5 crore available in Chaupal fund. Mayor assured that corporators concern will visit the localities with a team of engineers to deal with the issues in water supply.
Mayor assured to address the demands of the residents of Samanvay Nagar, who approached Chaupal for bulk connections. He instructed for installation of plastic water tanks in slums.BMC water cell would fill water tank daily.
Mayor Alok Sharma has been hospitalized after he complained of uneasiness on Monday. He had to adjourn mayor Chaupal which he had convened to redress problems of public. According to officials, mayor may have suffered heat stroke.
